Whatever Pops & Bowls
Overview: Whatever Pops and Bowls started out as a pop up cart that you could catch around local events in Tampa Bay for amazing popsicles. While that's still the case, they have expanded to a brick and mortar location in Seminole Heights that also sells açai bowls, gelato, milkshakes, smoothies, waffles on a stick, and grilled cheese.
Atmosphere: The bright green storefront is pretty hard to miss right off of Florida Avenue. They have big windows that span the front side and let a lot natural light in making the space inviting. There's also a few tables and chairs inside for you to relax and enjoy your treat. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and are great at helping you decide what you want to get. One feature that I really admire is the little free library they have right next to the Mother Kombucha on tap.
Treats: My favorite thing to get here is what they started on - their pops. Earl Grey Lavender Lemonade and Salty Chocolate Elvis are primo. You can even add a dip, drizzle, or roll for a little more.
Smoothies are also available and come in two sizes. I'd say the most intriguing flavors are the Banana Brew made with cold brew coffee, and Spirulina Matcha. If you're not a pop or smoothie person they have house-made gelato and milkshakes. "The Captain" milkshake made with Cap'n Crunch cereal feels like childhood in a cup.
It's very tempting to add a little bit more indulgence to whatever treat you decide by getting a waffle on a stick. The convenience of dipping a waffle into a milkshake or gelato just makes it very hard to say no to. For something more savory you can also get grilled cheese, all made with local bread and accompanied with a dipping sauce.
