Sunken Gardens is over 100 years old and a Florida treasure. It's not very large but full of exotic plants and birds (a full flock of flamingos!). There's koi fish in small ponds throughout as well waterfalls that add to the peaceful atmosphere. Sunken Gardens offers different programs throughout the year (photography classes, gardening classes, etc.), mainly geared towards children. Even on a hot day it's a nice place to visit because of all the shade that's offered. In case you're interested, Sunken Gardens is also available to be rented out for events and have a lawn specifically used for weddings. I'd say the gardens take about two hours to fully walk through and enjoy (depending on how much you like your plants) and is a perfect stop for any staycation.
