Atmosphere: Hillcrest Coffee is one of the newest coffee spots in Lakeland that is bringing quality coffee and comfortable hangouts to the Dixieland area! The coffee house is actually a converted home that was first built in 1925 and through the renovations the owners have maintained all the original charm so as soon as you walk in the door you feel welcome and at home. Community is key here and it’s clearly visible in the wide range of ages present in the coffee house and the vibrant conversations that take place between the baristas, owners, and anyone who walks in the door. There are plenty of different sitting options available from couches to chairs and tables for working on projects or playing any of their dozens of provided board games. Full of natural light and locally inspired knickknacks, you’ll be tempted to stay and sip at drink all day!
Coffee: Hillcrest excels by producing small batch coffee brewed from locally sourced roasters, such as Lakeland’s own Patriot Coffee, as well as Ethos Coffee Roasters, and Tampa-based Buddy Brew. Their cold brew is known for its strength, but their cappuccinos, lattes and pourovers are sure to satisfy any coffee connoisseur and caffeine addict!
Food: Like their coffee, Hillcrest likes to keep their food locally sourced! They usually feature a variety of baked goods including scones and chocolate chip cookies so be sure to get in early to grab a treat.
Events: Hillcrest Coffee frequently features local musicians (as well as performances by their talented baristas) during their Thursday Night Live Local events, and they also will host reoccurring performances by musicians Jon Corneal, Brian Sutherland and more on various nights of the week so be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with all of their events!
